英検準２級ライティング対策

では、英検準２級の『ライティング』のお話をします！

英検準２級は高校生在学レベルとなります。

確かに、英検準２級は高校生レベルです。

しかし！文法はそこまででもないかもしれません。基本的は中学３年間である程度文法は完了しています。

伝えたい内容は中学３年間の文法で形になります。だからこそ、『ライティング』は対策しやすいのです！

『ライティング』の重要性、対策方法については前回のブログ『英検ライティング対策』でお話したので、今回は

英検準２級『ライティング』はこわくない！

大丈夫です！ここからじっくり読んでいって下さい！

英検準２級『ライティング』出題傾向

まずは出題傾向を見ていきましょう！出題傾向を把握できれば、対策方法がわかります。

• あなたは、外国人の知り合いから以下のQUESTIONをされました。
• QUESTIONについて、あなたの意見とその理由を２つ英文で書きなさい。
• 語数はの目安は５０語～６０語です。
• 解答は、解答用紙のB面にあるライティング解答欄に書きなさい。なお、解答欄の外に書かれたものは採点されません。
• 解答がQUESTIONに対応していないと判断された場合は、０点と採点されることがあります。QUESTIONをよく読んでから答えてください。

という形で、『ライティング』の注意事項があります。

要注意点は２つ！

• 『ライティング』に書く内容は、QUESTIONに対する『あなたの意見』と『理由を２つ』
• 語数の目安が５０～６０語

語数が５０～６０とありますが、あくまで目安です！少し少なかったり、少し多かったりしても問題はありません。しかし、極端に語数が少ない。極端に語数が多いとあまりよくありません。

少なくて良いのであれば、多くて良いのであれば、語数の目安はありません。

なので、５０語はなるべく、いっても７０語くらいが良いのかと思います。

その中で『あなたの意見』と『理由を２つ』！

注意点が２つ！

• 解答欄をはみ出さないこと
• 意味不明なことを書かないこと

まぁ、これは当たり前のことですが、文字数は多ければいいわけではありません。ましてや、解答欄をはみ出すことはNGです。これは『英語』のスキルのテストです。アピールの場ではありません。

どれだけ良さそうなことを書いても、語数オーバー、スペルミス、文法ミスは減点対象です。

QUESTIONに対応せず、意味不明なことを書けば０点ですよね。

英検準２級『ライティング』も『型にはめる』

ということで、やはり『型にはめる』ことが大切です。

『ライティング』の始まり

QUESTIONは必ず『Do you think (that) ・・・?』で出題されます。

基本的に始まりは、

• I think (that)・・・.（・・・と思う。）
• I don’t think (that) ・・・.（・・・と思わない。）

・・・の所にQUESTIONの内容を入れればよいので、簡単かもしれません。

ただ、他にも『Do ～ ?』のQUESTIONなので、

• Yes , I do .
• No , I don’t .

ここから始めても良いでしょう！

『ライティング』自分の考えの理由

語数を稼ぎたい方は、前置きで『I have two reasons (for this). 』を入れるのが良いと思います。

語数がある程度いきそうな時は、直ぐに理由に入りましょう。

• First(ly) , ・・・.
• One reason is ・・・.
• First of all , ・・・.
• The first reason is that ・・・.

上記のように最初の理由の始めに入れると良いと思います。

• Second(ly) , ・・・.
• Another reason is ・・・.
• Also , ・・・.
• Next , ・・・.
• In addition , ・・・.
• Furthermore , ・・・.

上記のように二つ目の理由の始めに入れると良いと思います。

そしてまとめですね！

• That is why ・・・.
• Therefore , ・・・.
• For these (two) reasons , I think (that) ・・・.

上記のように始めに入れると良いと思います。

もう少し具体的に

上記のように『意見』→『前置き』→『理由１つ目』→『理由２つ目』→『まとめ』と『型』を持っているとだいぶ楽になりますが、理由に関してももう少し！

英検３級のように、理由を短い一文で終わりにすると、文章が弱くなります。ましてや語数が足りなくなると思います。

そこで、理由については下記のような文章を入れるのも良いでしょう！

• 具体例を出す（For example , ・・・. ）
• 予測をする（If ・・・ , ～）（～ if ・・・. ）もし・・・ならば～である。
• 内容を深める（when ・・・, ～）（～ when ・・・）・・・の時に～。
• 内容を深める（It is ・・・(for 人) to ～）人にとって～することは・・・だ。

他にも接続詞（so , because , but , and etc…）を使用すると文章が強くなりますし、語数が稼げます。

文法について

やはり各級にあった文法を使用すると良いと思います。しかし、例えば中学生にとっては、高校生の文法はまだまだ先です。先取り学習ができる方はして下さい。

ただ、なかなか難しい方は、中学３年間の文法でも特に問題ないと思います。

後述する様々な例を見ていただければ、そんな難しい文法は使っていないことがわかると思います。

せめて、中学３年生で習うような文法が入っていれば、ある程度の形になると思います。

• 接続詞
• 不定詞・動名詞
• 関係代名詞
• 現在分詞・過去分詞

『型』をしっかりと持って、様々な問題を解いていきましょう！

『ライティング』が導入され、時間が経つので過去問も様々あります。下記内容を解いてみるのもよいと思います。

2017年度

I think it is better for people to eat at home . I have two reasons . First , you can spend more time with your family . You can talk together while you cook and eat . Also , the food at home is healthy . At restaurants , food has a lot of fat , but at home you can use many vegetables and fruits .

I think that fast-food restaurants are good for people because they are cheap ant convenient . First , fast-food restaurants are cheap , so anybody can buy food there . Second , they are convenient . Even if you do not have time to cook , you can easily get food . That is why I think fast-food restaurants are good for people .

No , I do not . First of all , children learn bad ideas from video games . For example , sometimes children become violent when they play violent video games . Also , video games hurt children’s eyes . If they spend a long time playing video games , their eyes will go bad . Therefore , I do not think they should play video games .

I think so because it will be a good experience for their children . Parents can show children that there are many interesting things in museums . In addition , if parents take their children to museums , they can teach their children to be quiet in those places . It is a good chance for children to learn manners .

Yes , I do . I have two reasons . First , summer is getting hotter and hotter in Japan . It will be easy for students to study during the summer if school classrooms use air conditioners . Second , some students become ill if the classroom is too hot . Using air conditioners in the summer will stop students from feeling bad .

2021年度

Yes , I think so . I have two reasons . First , if people have a car , they can move easily from place to place . They do not have to worry about changing trains or buses when they travel . Second , cars are helpful when people go shopping . People do not have to carry heavy bags a long way if they have a car .

• 『・・・when ～』～の時、・・・。

I think it is better for people to borrow books from libraries. First, people can save money. Books cost money to buy, but it is free to borrow them from libraries. Second, people do not need a lot of space for books if they borrow them from libraries. They can use the space in their homes for other things.

Yes, I think so. I have two reasons. First, if there are more sports programs, more people may try doing sports. This will help them stay healthy. Second, people can have more chances to learn about sports that are not well known. There are many kinds of sports that are not popular yet.

2022年度

I think it is good for people to use smartphones while studying. First, people can look for things on the Internet quickly. For example, it takes only a few seconds to look up English words. Second, they can watch videos that explain the things they learn. It helps them understand what they are studying clearly.

I think libraries should have more book events for children. I have two reasons. First, children can get more chances to find different kinds of books. They can enjoy reading books that they do not know. Second, book events help children make new friends. They can talk about the books that they are interested in.

2023年度

I do not think hospitals should be open on weekends. I have two reasons. First, workers at hospitals need enough time to relax on weekends. They can reduce their stress by refreshing themselves. Second, weekends are good chances for families to spend time together. For example, workers at hospitals can go hiking with their family members.
